The Office of the President on Wednesday launched South Sudan’s official presidential website — the first since the country gained independence in 2011 — in a ceremony attended by President Salva Kiir Mayardit.
The new website, accessible at www.op.gov.ss, aims to enhance public access to government information and improve communication between the presidency and citizens.
According to the Office of the President Press Unit, the platform will deliver timely updates on government activities, national policies, presidential engagements, speeches, and official announcements.
Speaking at the launch in Juba, President Kiir described the website as a significant step toward promoting transparency, accountability, and public awareness using modern digital tools.
“The platform will help citizens access official information and counter misinformation,” Kiir said.
As part of broader efforts to strengthen government communication, authorities also announced plans to establish an Official Government Gazette for publishing laws, regulations, and official notices.
Members of the committee that developed the website thanked President Kiir for the initiative, describing it as a key component of the government’s digital transformation agenda and efforts to improve service delivery.
Officials said the launch marks a new chapter in modernizing how the presidency engages with the public.
