Rev Fr Deogratius Kateregga Kiibi delivered a touching homily at Mowzey Radio’s requiem mass at Rubaga Cathedral on Friday.
Fr Kateregga urged celebrities and all Ugandans to stick to God especially when they become famous.
“You need to go to Church and have a strong relationship with God. Do not only wait to be brought here in a casket,” Kateregga said.
“There is that moment when you will go to meet your creator. When you meet Him, what are you going to tell Him?” he wondered.
He also called on celebrities to stop thinking they are untouchable when they get money and fame.
“I sat and thought to myself, what if Radio had stayed home instead of going to that bar,” he said adding that people need to take be careful in life and always make the right choices for themselves and those close to them.
Kateregga also condemned acts of witchcraft, use of drugs and lavish lifestyles and abandoning one’s family at home to go to a bar. He advised celebrities to use their fame and money to become more productive and developmental to themselves and the nation.
He pointed out that musicians ought to find good financial advisers and managers to manage their business.
“Your talent is God given, do not think it is yours. When God gives you a gift, it is a quality gift, the way you use it is your gift back to God,” he said.
“Use your talents to glorify God.”
The priest who delivered his sermon in Luganda, urged the youth to use their youthful age to work hard and prepare for their future.
Rev Fr Kateregga spoke without fear or favour.
