Patoranking, Sauti Sol’s ‘Melanin Concert’ Cancelled

Nigerian reggae-dancehall singer and songwriter Patrick Nnaemeka Okorie, better known by his stage name Patoranking and Kenyan afro-pop band Sauti Sol’s Kampala concert dubbed ‘Melanin Concert’, has been cancelled, The Tower Post has learnt.

The concert was slated for this Friday 21st December, 2018 at the Lugogo Cricket Oval in Kampala.

A Monday notice from Next Radio, the concert organizers states that the concert has been postponed till further notice.

The organizers however did not go into detail about the cause for the postponement of the concert but simply stated that it was “due to unavoidable circumstances”.

A number of stakeholders in the entertainment industry including music critics and journalists had already punched holes in the possibility of the concert successfully taking place, arguing that the announcement came 3 weeks to the concert date, which wasn’t enough time for massive advertisement and for fans to make preparations.
