A cloud of grief is hovering over Busitema University after three of their students drowned at Sangalo beach over the weekend.
Mwesigye Jim Reeves, a fourth year student of engineering in water resources, Emolu Nathan a first year student of engineering in water resources and Demosha Asiimwe, a first year student of engineering in mining died on Friday evening.
The trio had reportedly gone to the beach to attend the handover party of the Busitema University Teso Students Association.
This is not the first incident of people dying on recreational beaches having recorded many similar cases in the past years.
Up to now, there are no specific regulations guiding swimming in lakes and no specialists have been employed for rescue in case of emergencies.
