Controversial Makerere University research fellow Dr Stella Nyanzi has been arrested.

According to a post on Dr Nyanzi’s Facebook page, apparently written by a social media assistant, she was picked after attending a public lecture organised by the Rotary Club of Kampala Metropolitan at Mackinon Suites in Kampala on Friday.

At the event where participants were asked to donate sanitary pads, Dr Nyanzi had duscussed the topic: Menstruation, Girl Education and Development: The Sustainability question.

“Stella has been arrested by unknown state agents. She was picked up after the Rotary Fellowship that she addressed this evening,” a post on Nyanzi’s Facebook page read.
