Abel Kagumire has been appointed as the substantive Commissioner Customs at the Uganda Revenue Authority has appointed Mr Abel Kagumire as the substantive. Kagumire takes the place that was formerly occupied by Dicksons Kateshumbwa who resigned from the tax body in May.

Kagumire has previously served as Assistant Commissioner Customs Audit and Manager Customs at URA in the last over 17 years at the tax collection institution.

Kagumire was interviewed for the job at a 

TDirectors Special Board meeting held on 26th August, 2020.

Several others were interviewed and the following appointments were made.

Commissioner Corporate Services  – Mr Richard Kariisa and John Tinka Katungwensi –  Assistant Commissioner large taxpayers’ office.
