Police Arrests NUP’s Bobi Wine, Breaks His Car Window Minutes After Nomination

Police has arrested National Unity Platform (NUP) Presidential Candidate Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine minutes after his nomination at Kyambogo.

Pictures seen on local television show Police officers breaking his front-left car window to gain access to the insode of the car.

The Presidential candidate was dragged out of the car, held to the ground and beat up Bobi Wine before he was tied up and dropped into a Police car.

During the scuffle that ensued during the arrest, Nakawa West MP hopeful and NUP spokesperson was grabbed and beaten up by the Police.

Bobi Wine was held on a black police van that was popularly known as the “Besigye van”. He was driven from Kyambogo, via Kyaliwajjala, Kira driven towards Kasangati.

The national Unity Platform had planned to travel to their kamwokya based headquarters to launch their manifesto immediately after the nominations but this may not happen seeing as their principal is not available.
