Mugisha Muntu Asks EC to Buy Airtime for Presidential Candidates

The Alliance for National Transformation- ANT Presidential candidate, Gen. Greg Mugisha Muntu has implored the Electoral Commission to consider buying radio airtime to facilitate presidential campaigns.

According to Muntu, the time allocated for presidential candidate isn’t sufficient for them to reach all Ugandans to market their programs ahead of the January 14th, 2021 polls.

Muntu says besides the limited time for campaigning across the country, the rallies of opposition presidential candidates are often disrupted by Police under the pretext of enforcing COVID-19 guidelines.

He proposes that EC identifies radio stations in every region of the country where each presidential candidate will be allocated airtime to reach out to voters.

Muntu, who was canvassing votes in Kalaki and Amuria districts on Tuesday observed that radio talk shows can save many people from the risk of contracting COVID-19, which has already claimed 207 lives and infected more than 23,200 others in the country.

Muntu promised to introduce a National Health Insurance Scheme to boost the health sector and health service delivery in the country if elected the next president.

Muntu also promised to invest in tourism to avail employment opportunities and investment for the young population.

Moses Ocen, a resident of Kalaki said that Muntu’s campaign message especial on health insurance gives hope to the local person whom he notes suffers accessing better treatment.
