The family of departed former Bank of Uganda governor Emmanuel Tumusiime Mutebile has released a burial program that will be followed to see him off.
Mutebile, 72, died on Sunday morning at Nairobi Hospital where had been admitted since December 31, 2021, after he collapsed due to complications related to diabetes.
According to the burial programme which The Tower Post has seen, Mutebile’s remains will arrive in the country on Tuesday evening and will be taken to his home in Kololo, Kampala.
A vigil service will be held on Wednesday at his home and according to the program, will be attended by a few friends and family members.
On Thursday January 27th, the former Central Bank governor’s body will be taken to parliament where a special session will be held in his honor.
On Friday January 28th, a church service will be held to pray for his soul at Kololo ceremonial grounds where public viewing of the body will also take place.
Mutebile will be laid to rest on Sunday January 30th at his ancestral home in Omuruhita, Kabala, South Western Uganda.
