Top performers including deejays, artistes and dancers from across the African continent over the weekend redefined entertainment perception in Uganda after putting up powerful performances at the Best of Kampala – BOK pop-up beach festival.
The two-day festival which took place at the prestigious Lugogo Tennis Arena attracted international acts including rapper Nasty C, Pcee and Justine99, whose performances turned up the vibe sending crowds into frenzy.
Other international performers like Daliwonga, MS DSF, DJ Barbie, Fully Focus, DJ Joozey, DJ Higa, DJ Rusam, Tango Supreme, and Alternate Sound also thrilled crowds with a fusion of House Music, Amapiano and Afrobeat.
A late addition to the international lineup was DJ Maphorisa who came in to replace South African DJ Kabza De Small who lost his brother and had to cancel his trip.
Just like the name of the festival suggested, the Best of Kampala Festival attracted the best entertainers in Uganda who turned up the party giving revelers the worth of every penny they paid to access the venue.
Starting from Saturday, DJ Etania, DJ Lito, DJ Dash, DJ Tenyis, DJ Young Mone, Dj Vx Faisal, Lyndah Ddane and DJ Bugy led the party alongside hype beasts Viana Indi and Doro Persie. Alien Skin (Kimenke) was another performer from Uganda on Day One.
The epitome of the party was brought on Sunday which was the final day of the festival. It featured legendary deejays like Selector Jay, Sir Aludah, DJ Kasbaby, DJ Slick Stuart alongside other selectors like DJ Bugy, DJ Jose 256, DJ Big Allan, DJ Vee and Edwizzy Selector.
Ghana’s Locationa Manager and Uganda’s Timothy Code commanded the hype policy while Sheila Gashumba and Tanzania’s Hamisa Mobetto led the hosting front.
Just like Mr. Godwin Abooki, the Managing Director of Best of Kampala promised from the very start, the festival lived up to the expectations of the revelers as witnessed by the energy and excited on the two days.
