For over a week now, veteran soldier Brig Kasirye Gwanga has been in the news for setting a tractor ablaze.
The tractor, Gwanga claimed, had been brought to clear his daughter’s land in Lubowa, Wakiso district.
The maverick soldier had sworn not to appear before Police for investigations.
But the soldier reportedly recorded a statement at Katwe Police Station on Monday after he was warned by ‘powers above’.
The outspoken ex-soldier was interrogated for hours and released on bail. He returns to Katwe on Monday.
It is against this background that outspoken presidential media advisor on media Joseph Tamale Mirundi believes there are mafia groups which want to humiliate Gwanga.
“The tractor owner is caught between Kasirye and the real land culprit,” Mirundi said during his NBS TV show Tuesday morning.
“The Mafia want Kasirye to be caught and humiliated. Mafia is never defeated. The members are never talked about in the news.”
Tamale Mirundi also said “I know the person behind the Kasirye land saga”.
