Museveni Donates His “Sowing the Mustard Seed” Book Copies to Schools

All libraries of government aided secondary schools will receive at least two copies of a book authored by Uganda’s president, the country’s education ministry has announced.

The education ministry’s circular to all school heads.

According to a May 02 circular sent by acting education ministry permanent secretary Nsumba-Lyaazi, to all school heads, the donated copies of the book, Sowing the Mustard Seed, are intended to “promote a proper understanding, appreciation and loyalty to Uganda’s national identity in a bid to foster peace and national cohesion for development”.

“It is intended to enlighten our school-going youth about our national history which is very critical to laying a firm foundation for responsible citizenship,” adds Nsumba-Lyaazi, in the circular after highlighting the book’s content as detailing “the causes of our troubled national history, subsequent liberation and path to national recovery”.

The ministry has also tasked the school heads to “ensure that the book is readily available to all students” and to “encourage students to read the book”.
