Peter Omolo, the former Soroti County MP and member of opposition Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) has passed on, his family has confirmed.
Omolo breathed his last on Thursday at Mulago Hospital, minutes to midnight. He died at the age of 62.
According to FDC’s Florence Ibbi, also former Woman MP for Kaberamaido District, Omolo had been diagnosed with acute pneumonia.
“FDC and Teso have lost an icon, a man who was a staunch opposition, an advocate for good governance,” Ibbi mourned.
Omolo served in the Constituent Assembly, eighth and ninth Parliament sessions but fell sick during his tenure in the ninth parliament.
