President Yoweri Museveni has met Kyadondo-East MP-elect Robert Kyagulanyi Sentamu, aka Bobi Wine.
Bobi Wine won the Kyadondo East by-election by a huge majority defeating Museveni’s candidate William Sitenda Sebalu of the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) party.
Museveni met Bobi at the vigil of fallen ex-Kampala mayor John Ssebaana Kizito at Kansanga in Kampala on Thursday night.
Bobi Wine had gathered with Ssebaana’s family friends and relatives for the vigil ahead of burial at the weekend.
The singer-turned-activist and politician recently praised Ssebaana for endorsing his candidature in Kyadondo.
Bobi is a critic of Museveni’s government policies.
While many top artistes, including nemesis Bebe Cool, teamed up to compose Museveni’s 2016 ‘Tubonga Naawe’ (We are With You) campaign song, Bobi instead sang ‘Dembe’ (Peace) preaching against electoral violence.
