Police Arrests Kifeesi Leader Paddy Sserunjoji

Kampala Metropolitan Police on Monday afternoon arrested Paddy Sserunjoji aka Ssobi, the leader of the notorious Kifeesi Gang well known for terrorizing people in Kampala.

Ssobi was arrested with two others, Kasozi Shafiq and Twaha Tim at Rose Gardens Hotel in Nsangi where the three were speaking to journalist.

Ssobi and his gang in December last year came out and addressed a press conference where they revealed that they had reformed from criminal activities including armed robberies and murder. They also assured party goers that they had no intentions to carry out robberies during the festive season.

According to police spokesperson, SSP Emilian Kayima Police arrested Ssobi and his colleagues were arrested because Police is currently investigating the allegations they openly made on Television which circulated on Social Media.

“The daunting claims of killing people cannot simply be swept under the carpet, it will be investigated to its logical conclusion,” said Kayimba in a statement.

“We want to investigate the allegations of these murders they claimed to be involved in committing. There is already a general inquiry file GEF KMP 373/2017,” he added.

On the allegations of working with police, Kayima noted that they want to establish who in the Police the gang is working with.

The three are in custody at Nsangi Police Station.
