Total Uganda has trashed the rumours making rounds on social media that a gas station in Kawempe has caught fire.

“Total Uganda refutes the false news trending on social media platforms claiming that Total Kawempe service station is on fire, This is absolutely untrue,” Total officials said in a statement.

The rumour started making rounds in the afternoon with individuals posting photos of a burning gas station on Facebook and Twitter.

But Total has asked the public to “disregard the false alert.”

“Total Kawempe is fully operational without any interruptions in our day to day activities,” the statement further reads.
