Police has Monday morning arrested and detained Kyadondo East legislator and Presidential hopeful Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine, The Tower Post reports.
Bobi Wine was picked up from Kasangati, where he was scheduled to hold his first consultative meeting ahead of 2021 polls where he intends to challenge the incumbent President Yoweri Museveni.
Preliminary reports indicate that Bobi Wine was blocked from accessing the venue of his consultative meeting which this website understands was okayed by the Electoral Commission.
He was arrested together with other People Power stalwarts including Bugiri Municipality legislator Asuman Basalirwa and the movement’s spokesperson Joel Ssenyonyi.
They are currently being held at Kasangati Police station and this website is not privy to which charges are being preferred against the trio.
