There was an exchange of arms on Friday morning at Zombo Barracks as thugs attacked the army detachment. Thugs armed with bows arrows and machetes killed three soldiers of the Uganda People’s Defense Forces (UPDF) who were trying to fend them off.

According to  deputy spokesperson for UPDF Lt. Col. Deo Akiiki “Three Soldiers died in the attack and a number of attackers were also killed.”

“Security forces working with the local leaders and wanainchi — public — are currently hunting for those assailants who escaped as investigations continue to establish the motive behind this heinous crime.”

The army is yet to release a list of victims from the hang. The army recovered pangas and arrows as exhibits.
