Kadaga Allows Two MPs to Return to Parliament After Completing Quarantine

Speaker of Parliament, Rebecca Kadaga has allowed two members of Parliament James Kakooza (Kabula County, Lyantonde) and Robert Ssekitileko (Lwengo MP) to Parliament after completing their two weeks self-quarantine.

Kadaga asked the two members to stay away from parliament after they returned from Dubai.

Most of the Covid-19 cases Uganda has registered are returnees from Dubai (United Arab Emirates) The UAE had initially not listed among the high-risk nations.

Several other MPs are in self-quarantine. As of today, Uganda has registered 52 cases of coronavirus.

Whereas parliamentary sessions in some countries have been suspended, the Ugandan parliament still meets, albeit not in the gallery.
