Kasese Hit by Second Wave of Floods

River Nyamwamba and several other rivers in Kasese burst their banks on Sunday causing a second wave of floods on Sunday.

The second wave of floods destroyed every property that had been left standing by the first wave, including a hospital

The second wave happened on Sunday after River Nyamwamba and several other rivers burst their banks.

The floods washed away a big part of Kilembe Mines Hospital and severely destroyed two villages in Kasese district. They include; Kanyaruboga and Bulembia in Kilembe.

Over 120,000 people have since been displaced by the floods. Many have taken refuge in churches as the government arranges better rehabilitation plans.

Families have been advised to relocate warning that there could be more danger.

According to the Brigadier Stephen Oluka, who is leading the National Emergency Coordination department in the Office of the Prime Minister described the situation; the government is finding challenges to resettle people who have been affected by the floods.
