Uganda’s Cases of Coronavirus Now at 139

The number of coronavirus cases in Uganda has now reached 139. The Ministry of Health confirmed on Wednesday that 13 truck drivers had tested positive for coronavirus.

“Today, 13 new COVID-19 cases confirmed from 1,741 samples of truck drivers bringing the total number of COVID-19 cases to 139.

The new cases include; 7 Ugandans, 5 Kenyans and 1 Eritrean who arrived from Tanzania, South Sudan and Kenya via Mutukula, Elegu and Malaba.

All 363 community samples that were tested on Wednesday tested negative for COVID-19.

The Ministry said in a statement that more than 2,000 contacts of all the other truck drivers are being followed up.
