Forum for Democratic strong woman Doreen Nyanjura has been named the new Deputy Lord Mayor for Kampala Capital City, The Tower Post reports.
This was announced by Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago while addressing journalists at City Hall on Thursday morning.
Nyanjura who is also the councilor for Makerere replaces Sarah Kanyike Ssebagala who was fired on Thursday morning.

Kanyike’s sacking followed her nomination for the post of Director gender, community service and production in KCCA, a move which was unpopular amongst opposition politicians in Kampala.
Nyanjura, according to the Mayor will take office with immediate effect.
As part of the job, she also takes up the position of Minister for gender, community service, production and marketing.
