Police Raids Nomad Bar, 49 Partiers Arrested

At least 49 people were Sunday night arrested in a Police raid on BUnga based Nomad Bar, The Tower Post has learnt.

The 49 who included partiers and bar managers were arrested in an operation mounted by Kabalagala Police to enforce President Museveni’s directives on opening of bars.

According to Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Luke owoyesigire, the owner of the bar Fred Kamau is among the arrested.

“All are detained at Kabalagala Police Station on allegations of doing a negligent act likely to spread an infection of a disease,” Owoyesigire said on Monday morning.

This is not the first bar to be raided by Police for flouting President Yoweri Museveni’s directives on fighting Covid19.

Last month, popular night spot La’Venti in Najjera was raided and scores arrested.

Similar raids took place at Friends’ bar in Kololo and a number of house gatherings.
