SFC Gets New Commander as Museveni Transfers Seven Army Officers

President Yoweri Museveni who is also the Commander in Chief of the Ugandan Armed Forces has named Brig. Gen. David Mugisha as the new Commander of the UPDF Special Forces Command – SFC.

Mugisha who has been the second in command at the UPDF 3rd Infantry Division replaces Maj. Gen. James Birungi who has been at the helm of the elite Force.

In other promotions and transfers, Maj Gen Samuel Kawaga has been transferred to Nairobi as Defence Advisor.

Brig Gen Joseph Semwanga has been appointed as the Commander of UPDF 1st Division.

Brig Gen Felix Busizoori will replace Brig. Gen. Mugisha as 3rd Division Second in Command.

Col Herbert Nabimanya has been removed from the SFC and to Land Forces.

Lt Col Allan Matsiko has been promoted to Colonel.

Maj Dancun Kafeero has been promoted to Lt Colonel.
