The paint and quality of the product that Uganda has come to love over the years in now found in a Plascon tin and not any other.

This comes after Kansai Plascon Africa Limited, a subsidiary of Japan based Kansai Paint Company purchased the Sadolin Paints operations in Uganda and other East African countries in August this year.

Plascon took over the production sites, quality standards, materials and staff of Sadolin, maintaining the quality of the product and only changing the name.

However, last week Sadolin re-launched on the Ugandan market and announced Crown Group, manufacturers of Regal Paints as their new local partners after cancelling their contract with Plascon.

Despite the new development, it is important to note that any new paint on the market will not have the original product, with the same standard or quality on the inside of the tin as what people have come to expect of the best paint in Uganda unless it comes from Plascon.

This is because Plascon maintains the same production and quality that Ugandan’s have come to love for the last 55 years, manufactured at the $10 million Paint factory in Namanve that was previously owned by Sadolin.

The ‘New Sadolin’ on the Ugandan market, whose quality is not assured, is produced by Regal Paint.

“People know that the best quality, most trusted and loved paint products come from production sites in Namanve and 2nd Street and that those sites now belong and manufacture Plascon paints.  If people want the quality, service and performance of the past now with advantages of colour support, global trends and a brand across Africa they need to paint with Plascon,” says Plascon Uganda MD, Chris Nugent.

Plascon Uganda also took over the slogan “Colour Your World”,  as well as Football and Rugby clubs sponsorship, a reason why  Sadolin FC and Sadolin Mongers recently re-branded to Plascon FC and Plascon Mongers.
