The National Social Security Fund (NSSF) has kicked off its Annual Customer Connect Week with various activities that include financial literacy training and product education to equip members with financial knowledge, as well as a medical camp to avail free health care to surrounding communities.
The financial literacy training will focus on topics that include saving, investment, planning for retirement, personal finance management and debt management.
These will be supplemented by free financial advisory services from the Fund’s investment team, Capital Markets Authority, Uganda Registrations Services Bureau, Uganda Law Society and the Uganda Securities Exchange
On product education, the Fund will, during the week, focus on enrolling its members to their e-service channels that include SMS and email alerts in order to improve convenience and efficiency in their service delivery.
“The average usage of our e-channels is at 56% on a monthly basis while the over the-counter engagement with customer stands at 43% – We now want to customers to be able to self-serve anytime, anywhere. This I believe, will eventually reduce the queues at physical service points.” Richard Byarugaba, MD NSSF said, during the launch of the Customer Connect Week.
In addition, members and surrounding communities will benefit from a free medical camp that will provide free Hepatitis B screening, Yellow fever vaccination, Diabetes and Blood Pressure screening.
“These activities affirm our mantra – which is to provide a better life for our members.” Byarugaba added.
Now in its 5th year, the NSSF Customer Connect week aims at increasing the Fund’s customer engagement and collecting feedback in order to improve its overallcustomer service experience.
“I am happy to note that through this and other customer focused initiatives, we have witnessed the Fund’s customer satisfaction rate grow to 92% as at December 2017 from 49% seven years ago – Meaning we are on the right track to improving customer service experience”
The initiative will take place from 19th to 22nd February at the Constitutional Square in Kampala and at the Fund’s branches countrywide.
