Constitutional Court sitting in Mbale has finally set the date when it will deliver the ruling on the Age Limit Petition.
A July 13 hearing notice from the Court of Appeal Deputy Registrar states that the ruling will be made on 26/July 2018.
The notice is addressed to addressed to Male Hassan Mabirizi, Lukwago and company advocates, Rwakafuz, Abeine-Burygyeya and company advocate, Uganda Law society and Attorney General.
“If no appearance is made on your behalf by yourself or someone authorized to act for you, the judgement will be delivered in your absence,” it reads in part.
In the petition, Lawyers Elias Lukwago, Wandera Ogalo, Rwadslaus Rwakafuuzi and Male Mabirizi noted that parliament exceeded its mandate and flaunted its rules of procedure during the process of tabling, debating and enactment of the Age Limit Amendment bill.
