Singer Ykee Benda has assumed a new role as the Uganda Musicians Association (UMA). Ykee has been the Vice President but following the resignation of Sophie Gombya on Wednesday, Ykee has taken over the top job.

Sophie says she is going into politics to contest as the Woman Councilor in Kampala Capital City Authority (LC 5 Woman Councilor KCCA).

The association’s constitution doesn’t allow a person in the position of the president to contest for political office.
