Makerere University end of semester exams started with sad news after a second year student collapsed after an exams and was later pronounced dead.
Joanita Nakalemba, an Education Student and resident at Garden Courts Hostel – Kikoni is said to have complained about feeling unwell after her after sitting a Psychology exam on Tuesday (June 6th) before she started vomiting and bleeding from the mouth.
According to eye witnesses, Nakalemba was rushed to Makerere University Hospital but her condition worsened and arrangements were made to transfer her to Mulago.
It is while on the way to Mulago that she collapsed and breathed her last.
Close friends say Nakalemba has been healthy and friendly, and did not have any health problems that they were aware of.
The cause of her death is not known yet and the by publication time, the University has not issued a statement.
