Miss Universe Uganda has officially launched the inaugural Miss Universe Uganda 2026 competition with a media briefing at Mestil Hotel & Residences, marking a historic milestone as Uganda officially joins the prestigious global Miss Universe platform for the very first time.
This launch marks the beginning of Uganda’s journey to one of the world’s most recognized and influential international stages for women empowerment, leadership, culture, fashion, and advocacy.
Under the leadership of National Director, Joram Muzira, Miss Universe Uganda aims to redefine pageantry in Uganda by creating a transformative platform that celebrates beauty with purpose while empowering young Ugandan women to become global ambassadors for culture, leadership, confidence, and social impact.
“This is more than a pageant; it is a historic cultural moment for Uganda,” said Joram Muzira. “Miss Universe Uganda represents a new era of opportunity, visibility, empowerment, and international representation for young Ugandan women and the country’s creative industry.”
The Miss Universe Uganda platform will serve as a major national platform for fashion, media, culture, tourism, and youth empowerment while offering Ugandan women an opportunity to compete on the global Miss Universe stage for the first time in history.

1. MEDIA LAUNCH

The official unveiling of Miss Universe Uganda 2026 to the media, partners, sponsors, stakeholders, and the public. This prestigious launch event officially marks Uganda’s entry into the global Miss Universe platform.
2. CALL FOR ENTRIES
14th May – 4th June 2026
Following the official launch, applications will officially open for young women across Uganda to apply for the historic first edition of Miss Universe Uganda.
During this phase, aspiring contestants will submit their entries and begin their journey toward becoming Uganda’s next international representative.
The campaign will focus on discovering confident, intelligent, purpose-driven, and inspiring women ready to represent Uganda globally.
The application phase will include:
- Online registrations and submissions
- National digital campaigns
- Media promotions and interviews
- Contestant engagement initiatives
- Awareness campaigns encouraging participation in the inaugural edition
This stage represents the beginning of a life-changing opportunity for women ready to go Beyond The Crown.
3. NATIONAL CASTING

The nationwide search officially begins as aspiring delegates audition for a chance to become part of Uganda’s first-ever Miss Universe journey.
The casting process will focus on:

4. NON-RESIDENTIAL BOOTCAMP
9th June – 4th July 2026
Selected contestants will begin intensive training and development sessions while living off-campus.
The bootcamp will include:
- Mentorship
- Runway and stage training
- Public speaking
- Fitness and wellness
- Branding and media preparation
- Advocacy development
5. RESIDENTIAL BOOTCAMP
July – August 2026
Contestants will move into the official Miss Universe Uganda residence for an immersive experience featuring:
- Leadership workshops
- Content production
- Wellness and fitness sessions
- Cultural experiences
- Challenge activities
- Media training
- Elimination rounds
This phase prepares contestants for the grand finale and international-level competition standards.
6. SASHING CEREMONY
July 2026
One of the most prestigious and symbolic events of the Miss Universe Uganda journey, the Sashing Ceremony will officially introduce contestants to the nation and the world.
During this glamorous occasion, delegates will officially receive their regional or official Miss Universe Uganda sashes, marking their formal entry into the competition.
