Government through the Ministry of Public Service has declared Wednesday May 12th as a Public Holiday to allow citizens follow proceedings from Kololo Independence grounds where President Museveni will be taking his oath of office.

Catherine Musingwire, the Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Public Service said the official communication regarding the declaration of May 12th as a Public Holiday will be made early next week.

“It is going to be a public holiday. We are just awaiting official communication,” Musingwire reportedly told New Vision.

A total of over 4,000 people have been confirmed to attend Museveni’s swearing-in ceremony physically at Kololo grounds while the events will also be broadcast live on television for the whole country to follow.

Among the attendees, 21 heads of state have been confirmed to attend.

Also invited to attend the ceremony from within the country include; all former presidential candidates, ministers and ministers of state, all MPs-elect, members of the Central Executive Committee, some religious and cultural leaders, 17 delegates from each district, members of the East African Legislative Assembly and some members of the business community.
