Sony has provided an update on its upcoming PlayStation 5 console, which the company expects to launch in late 2020.
The console will come with a new type of controller that will bring touch to the gaming experience. Game creators have started receiving early versions of the new controller ahead of the console’s launch.
The controller will use haptic feedback so that actions feel more like the real thing. The controller will also feature adaptive triggers incorporated into the trigger buttons (L2/R2).
Developers can programme the resistance of these triggers so that users can feel the tactile sensation of drawing a bow and arrow, for example, or of accelerating an off-road vehicle through rocky terrain.
