I’m grateful to my colleagues at NTV, they’ve been my other family.Thank you all for supporting this journey,” Joel Ssenyoni wrote on Twitter on May 2nd.
NTV on their part bade farewell to their news anchor with a cake.
“Farewell to Joel Ssenyonyi. You’ve been so supportive during your time at NTV. We’ll miss having a wonderful colleague like you. Good luck in your future endeavours,” tweeted UTV Uganda.

Although Ssenyonyi’s next move at the time was unknown, his joining of the People Power Movement doesn’t come as a surprise.
The journalist was among those that joined Bobi Wine to demonstrate against the Social Media and Mobile Money taxes which came into effect on July 1st, 2018.
Ssenyonyi has also been actively involved in political activism via Social Media.
